Webshop development
that fits your business

We build Shopify stores and custom, Laravel-based webshops for businesses, with online payments, automatic invoicing and shipping integration. FlowProject is an independent digital studio in Budapest, working since 2019: a core team of three and eight trusted partners take your shop from choosing a platform to the months after launch.

// shopify_or_custom

Shopify or a custom webshop: how we decide

With a webshop, the first question isn't the design, it's the platform. We build both Shopify stores and custom Laravel shops, so we have no reason to push either one. We recommend whatever fits your products, your processes and the growth you're planning.

[01] shopify

Shopify, if you want to launch fast

  • classic physical products with variants (size, colour)
  • a quick start with proven payment and shipping modules
  • theme development for your brand, not an off-the-shelf template
  • Shopify takes care of the servers and platform updates
[02] custom laravel

A custom shop, if your model is unusual

  • non-standard products: programmes, memberships, access
  • your own pricing logic, coupons, price tiers
  • a tight link to your other systems (app, CRM, warehouse)
  • full control over data and behaviour, with a Filament admin
[03] existing shop

If you already have a webshop

  • WooCommerce, Shopify or custom: first we look at what works
  • often speed, technical SEO or a single integration is enough
  • we only suggest switching platforms if yours is a real limit

Rule of thumb: if your shop works like most webshops (cart, payment, parcel), Shopify is the faster and more predictable route. If something specific happens after the purchase, say access opens to a programme or the order flows on into your own system, a custom Laravel shop means fewer compromises in the long run. At that point the shop is really custom software development with a cart.

// whats_included

What a finished webshop includes

[01] payments

Online payments

  • card payments via SimplePay or Stripe
  • handling of successful, failed and cancelled payments
  • confirmation email to the customer
[02] invoicing

Automatic invoicing

  • Billingo or Számlázz.hu integration
  • the invoice is created and sent once the payment succeeds
  • no copying orders from the shop into the invoicing tool by hand
[03] shipping

Shipping

  • GLS home delivery and a parcel point picker
  • separate rates for Hungary and abroad
  • shipping fees by weight, region or basket value
[04] stock + admin

Stock and admin

  • products, variants, stock management
  • orders, customers and coupons in one place
  • Shopify's own admin, or Filament for Laravel
[05] seo + ai

SEO and AI discoverability

  • fast loading, clean URLs, a sitemap
  • structured data for products and your company
  • quotable product and category copy, llms.txt
[06] gdpr + cookies

Legal pages and cookies

  • a proper place for terms and the privacy policy
  • cookie consent that your tracking actually follows
  • customer data only goes where it needs to

For us, SEO isn't an afterthought: the technical groundwork goes in while we build. What that means in 2026, when Google and ChatGPT both answer questions directly, is covered in our article on technical SEO, and whether your shop needs an llms.txt in this guide. If your launch needs campaigns and content too, our marketing team takes it from there.

// how_we_work

Five steps from idea to running shop

A webshop isn't finished at launch; it's finished when real customers are using it. So our process doesn't stop at go-live, it ends with measurement.

You get one day-to-day contact who stays with you from the first email. When you ask something, a real person answers, not a ticketing system.

Start with a free audit →

  1. 01
    Audit

A workshop, your existing material and, if you already have a shop, a technical SEO + AI audit. At the end, everyone has the same picture in mind.

  2. 02
    Plan

Platform, sitemap, checkout flow, integrations. On paper first: what's wrong on paper will be wrong in Figma too.

  3. 03
    Build

Two-week sprints, a weekly demo, a weekly decision. You can see where the shop stands at all times.

  4. 04
    Launch

Test payments, test invoices and test shipments in a staging environment, redirects from your old URLs, then a gradual go-live.

  5. 05
    Operate

For three months after launch we watch how the shop is actually used and adjust it. Further development is agreed separately after that.

// reference

Reference: the G8 Alakváltók webshop

For Géza Goócz's G8 Alakváltók lifestyle programme (client: BIOHACK Kft.), the webshop sells programmes and club membership, with coupons and price tiers. Payments run through SimplePay, Billingo issues the invoice automatically, and physical products ship with GLS in Hungary and abroad.

It's a textbook case for a custom shop: a purchase doesn't just trigger a parcel, it automatically gives the customer access to the right programme. That's why the shop runs in the same Laravel system as the participant app and the website, with shared accounts and a shared admin. The team sets up new cohorts and products in the admin themselves, without a developer.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build a webshop?

We don't publish prices, because the cost of a webshop depends on the platform, the product range and the integrations. After a free consultation we send a tailored proposal written for your shop.

Shopify or a custom webshop: which is better?

If you sell classic products and want to launch quickly, usually Shopify. If your product is unusual (a programme, a membership, access), you need your own pricing logic, or the shop has to connect tightly to your other systems, a custom Laravel shop. We'll tell you which fits your case in the consultation.

Do you build WooCommerce shops?

We build new webshops on Shopify or as custom Laravel shops. If your current shop runs on WooCommerce, we'll look at it in the free audit and tell you whether it's worth staying or whether switching would get you more.

Which payment and invoicing systems can you connect?

SimplePay or Stripe for online payments, Billingo or Számlázz.hu for invoicing. The invoice is created automatically after a successful payment and sent to the customer.

How long does it take to build a webshop?

It depends on the scope: a Shopify store usually goes live sooner than a custom system. We work in two-week sprints with a weekly demo, so you always know where things stand. The exact schedule is part of the proposal.

What happens after launch?

For three months after launch we watch how the shop is actually used and adjust it. Further development and maintenance are agreed separately after that. Your contact person stays the same throughout.
